'Tis the Season...

'Tis the season......to decorate a tree, to tell Santa what you want him to bring you because you've been a good little boy, to decorate gingerbread houses, to shop for presents, but most importantly to remember the birth of our Saviour. Dallin was so excited to put up and decorate the tree this year, which made it really fun. He has been asking exactly how reindeer fly, with which I responded, "God must have made them special." He's also noticed that the Santa at the mall and the Santa at Tad's work Christmas parties look different. So, we explained that Santa can't really be everywhere all at the same time, so he has helpers who wear a suit just like his to help him out. He was satisfied with the answer, but I am beginning to wonder if this is his last year of believing. Gavin & Ethan have enjoyed pulling the ornaments off the tree, and sitting in their stroller for long stretches of time while we Christmas shop.

Gavin, Dallin & Ethan. (Notice the ornaments in their hands and that all the low ornaments are missing off the tree.)

Gavin admiring the tree and contemplating which ornament to pull off next.

A life-size manger scene at Alstede Farm. You didn't know a little 5 yr. old in a green coat was part of the story did you?

Dallin excited about the gift Santa gave him, while Ethan tried to get Santa's shoe. As soon as Santa came in Dallin told me that it was not the real Santa, but one of his helpers because he could see the string that held on his beard. OOPS!

Gavin & Santa.
The first time Gavin sat on Santa's lap, he wanted nothing to do with him. This was an improvement.

Ethan & Santa.
The first time Ethan saw Santa, he was very fascinated with his beard and tried to pull it.

Dallin with our finished gingerbread house.
And yes, it is a pre-made one from a box where you add the frosting and the candy. Tad said one year he wants to make one from scratch. I told him I'd be up for actually making the gingerbread walls when the babies are five or so. We'll see.
