We have been really excited to go into NYC this year to see the Rockefeller Center Tree and all the lights in the city. We never made it last year because by Christmas time my belly was so huge that it was really uncomfortable to walk long distances. So, we braved the cold (about 30 degrees) and out we went. Ethan & Gavin were bundled up in about 4 layers of clothing and then we put a blanket over their legs and the rain cover over the stroller to keep the wind off of their faces. They did great. Actually, I think they might have been a little too warm as they were a little sweaty when we got them out at Toy R Us (but that's better than the alternative)

Here's the famous Christmas tree at Rockerfeller Plaza. It is even bigger than I thought it would be. Most people don't know that it is actually from New Jersey. That was a little tidbit shared with us by our Bishop and the Elders who we ran in to on the way to the plaza. We also ran into another couple from our Ward, the Leseuer's, who also decided to brave the cold and see the sites. We thought is was pretty funny that we ran into all of them.
Here we all are in front of the tree. You can almost see Ethan & Gavin through the plastic shield of the "baby-mobile." Notice my hat. We bought it moments earlier for $10. I thought it was so cute.
What we don't go through sometimes to get Dallin to pose for pictures. You wouldn't know it, but it was quite the struggle to get him to hold still to take this.
This photo is especially fun for us as there are so many movies with the ice rink in it. There were a lot of stairs to get down there so this is about as close as we made it.
Every 15 minutes or so the snowflakes on the building turned on and off to a Christmas song. I can't imagine the work it takes getting all of this stuff ready and set up.
Hopefully you can see this one clear enough, but this building is "wrapped" and ready for Santa to come.
There were about six or seven of these giant nutcrackers lined up in front of this building. Don't step on the stand or the policeman will tell you to get off (Dallin wouldn't know anything about that).
Just down from Times Square is a huge Toys R Us with a giant moving and roaring T-rex and an indoor ferris-wheel. We actually had a couple of toys picked out for Dallin until we saw how long the lines were. There were at least 30 people in line at every register. We put the toys back and decided that running to Target on Christmas Eve wouldn't be so bad after all. Tad got pretty excited when he saw that they had three original Lego sets of the Millenium Falcon and then he saw the price tag of $499.99. The dream was nice while it lasted. Please note, trying to manuever a double stroller through mobs of shoppers at the largest toy store you've ever seen is not recommended.

We were going to go down, but the weather was our deterrent. It looks like you guys had fun! Maybe next year.
Okay, so what's the deal with the no scarf and the scarf? Did he buy it after you got there because he was freezing or didn't like it so didn't put it on, only to realize later that his wife was right and he would want it? I'm thinking it has something to do with the latter..wifes are always right. And p.s. your hat is very cute! Very stylish, I love it. You all look so cute and warm!
It looks like it would be so much fun to live by NYC and be able to just drop in when you wanted. I'm definitely jealous. Your kids are getting so big and cute. I can't believe the twins are climbing stairs already!! What a fun age. I'm glad you guys had such a nice Christmas.
You make me jealous! I've always wanted to see NYC in December. We always go in September. Thanks for the great pics. It might tide me over until I can actually get there in December to see them.
