Days 1-3 - Disneyland/California Adventure

For Fall Break, Dallin had 2 1/2 weeks off of school (since he started the end of July), so we decided to head to California for a week.  We had an awesome time!  The only bad part is we thought we'd be leaving the heat of Arizona, but California was having a heat wave too.  The weather was 95-99 degrees while we were there.  Hot, but not Arizona summer hot.  Last time we were at Disney (actually  we were at Disney World) was 3 1/2 years ago, when Ethan & Gavin were only one year old.  So, it really was almost like their first time, and they loved it!  It was Logan's first time too and he's definitely a fan!  We did Disneyland for two days and California Adventure for a day (with a little bit of hopping back and forth).  My parents flew in and met us there for the entire 3 days, and much to Dallin's surprise, they brought our nephew Ross, who is Dallin's same age.  They are the best of friends and had SO much fun hanging out.  Ethan, Gavin & Logan loved having Nana, Grandpa & Ross join us for part of our vacation.

Even though it was end of September when we were there, it was all decked out for Halloween and I LOVED it!!  Every
where was so festive.  This was actually taken on our third day, so Dallin was with  Ross, Nana & Grandpa at California Adventure hitting up some big rides while Tad and I took the little guys to fantasyland.

One our first day we went to the Jedi Training and Dallin and Ross were both selected to become padawan's.  They were trained then fought Darth Maul.  They did a great job and defeated him!

Ross defeating Darth Maul.
I'm pretty sure this is on most boys' lists of "Coolest things to do."

We went to  Halloween festival they were having and saw some of the characters in their Halloween costumes.  It was adorable!

Mickey & Minnie all dressed up.
Notice the boys' pins and lanyards.  Nana & Grandpa bought it for them and they had such a fun time trading pins with cast members.  Grandpa & Tad even got into the excitement.

 Chip dressed as a policeman.

At California Adventure Cars Land had just opened a couple of months ago, and it did not disappoint. It is absolutely amazing!!  It looks just like the movie.  Tad and I were so impressed and the boys loved it.

 Good 'ole Mater.

One of the cute stores in Cars Land.  They also have some super cute rides there too.

Ethan posing with his Bugs Life glasses.

Logan L-O-V-E-D the carousel, any carousel, all carousels.  He wanted to go again & again.  When the ride was over and we'd take him off, he'd grip on SO tight that we had to PRY his fingers from the handles.  Not to mention the wailing that accompanied this scene. Needless to say, he got to go several times.

Gavin the sorcerer.

Even Tad got a little crazy...wait, he usually is.

At the Halloween carnival, Ethan & Gavin make some scary masks.

This shot is a little sentimental because I have the same shot of Dallin the first time he went to Disneyland, when he was almost two, sitting in this fire truck with the biggest smile on his face.  So, I needed to get another one.

We had such a blast and loved seeing Nana, Grandpa & Ross.  They left to fly back to Utah while we continued on...

Just like the movie, only they have plenty of customers :) That picture of Tad in the mad hatter hat is hilarious!! I am guessing we haven't yet experienced all the sides of his personality :) Very good pictures, I must say... can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!
