We have been operating on "survival mode" for the last two weeks.
After 3 doctor visits, 1 specialist visit, 1 Emergency Room visit, 1 surgery, countless throw-ups, and explosive diarrheas, we are finally ready to do more than just survive. Two weeks ago Gavin started throwing up and did so for 3 days straight. After a visit to the pediatrician, who told us it was probably rotavirus, he then got lethargic. That ended us up in the emergency room because he was dehydrated despite Tad and I's vigillant effort to keep fluids down (including syringing pedialyte into his mouth - which he HATED!). Then Ethan, Dallin and I started throwing up. Poor Tad had to clean up more throw-up than I'm sure he ever wanted to (what a great husband and dad he is!). Gavin then had tubes put in his ears because he has had 8 ear infections in 7 months. The surgery was scheduled back in November, and if we re-scheduled it would be another month and a half out (and probably 2 ear infections later). I had intense pain in my diaphragm/stomach area, so went to the doctor who then referred me to a gastroenterologist. I went to see him and he thinks I have a hole in my esophagus. So, on Jan. 20th I get to be sedated and have a scope done of my esophagus, stomach and duodenum. A couple of nights ago, Ethan woke up crying and much to Tad and my horror he had a HUGE, STINKY diarrhea, so we had to bathe him and threw away his pajamas, sheet and onesie because it was that bad. The worst part was both Ethan and Gavin have been like newborns again - they are so weak that the can't sit up, crawl or even hold their heads up. Tad and I have had to hold them non-stop. Tad took all of last week off to help me. They are now starting to play again, and it's like they had to re-learn how to sit up and crawl - it's really sad. Tad came home early from work today feeling achy all over and feels like he is going to throw up. I guess the fun never ends...
In retrospect, I've thought many things about this experience.....
1 - I am thankful for my parents and what they went through with me.
2 - I am so thankful for Tad and his support! We never would have survived the past 2 weeks without him.
3- I am thankful I have three healthy children.
4- I gained a lot of respect for every mother and father out there who has had sick children and had to just endure it.
5 - I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends who kept checking in on us.

You guys are such champs and I hope it's all over soon. I know this is probably a little late and I'm far away but if you guys need ANYTHING please let me know. Good Luck on the 20th I hope everything goes well.

That sounds awful! I so glad you didn't have to do it by yourself. That's miserable watching your kids be sick, you feel so helpless.
