St. Patty's Day Parade & 5K

I never realized what a big celebration St. Patrick's Day is, until we moved to New Jersey, and it is BIG! A week & 1/2 before the big day, we went with Tad's boss Rayman to a St. Patty's Day parade in Hoboken. The weather was beautiful and the bagpipes were aplenty! We enjoyed celebrating Jersey style.

We stopped on the way to the parade and got a "slice" of pizza for the boys - they actually ate almost the entire piece.

Can't celebrate without an Ireland flag.

Fabulous babpipes and drums - and LOTS of them!

The parade goers were everywhere and nothing but a sea of green!

My girlfriends Heather and Jen and I made a goal to run the St. Patty's Day 5K in Morristown, NJ. We trained and finally race day came......DOWNPOUR of rain!
Notice we are not soaking wet, and we still have make-up on, as this is in my neighborhood before the race.

After the 5K - soaking wet!
We were glad Kristy could join us too!
You guys are awesome! Thanks for doing it with me!!

Ok um wow on the huge slice of pizza, where in the world was that from? So awesome you guys did a 5k together even. It's so much easier when running with other people you know, and like. :)

Thanks for encouraging me to do the race with you. I'm pretty proud of ourselves for doing it in such crummy conditions. :) Maybe next time we'll have better luck with the weather!
