My first 5K

This is the first 5K that I have actually run. I have done two 5K's before, but walked them. I started running in January (thanks to my girlfriends' encouragement) and decided that I wanted to do a 5K. This is really bad to admit, but when I started running, I couldn't even complete a mile, so I was very proud of myself for making it! The race had around 1700 people; it was crazy! It was in Morristown, NJ and then there was a parade after. Tad and Dallin met me at the finish line and it was so great to have support! Tad has been wonderful to watch the kids so I can go out for a run. So, if you want to run, but don't think you can....you can!

Here I am with my race number on. I left the camera in the car at the race, so this is taken at home after the race.

Yay to running your first race! I suck at running, but did a big race last year (half of it was hiking straight up a mountain) and then running about 5-6 miles back down hill. I thought I would die, but I made it. It's amazing what your body can do if you let it try. Congrats again on your first running race! I really need to think about doing something this year to motivate me again. :)

Congrats! I walked a 5K on our cruise and I am starting to run a little, but still a LONG way off! Good Job!

Good Job! I think it's great. You'll have to tell me how you got motivated to run. I enjoy working out, but it's mainly because it's time for me with out kids. I love the YMCA! Again Yay Melanie!

You are awesome. Now you just need to work your way up to a marathon so we can run the New York together. I am not planning on it until 2010, so that will give you plenty of time!!
