Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend, my parents came out to join us in some fun and see our new place.  We really enjoyed having them out.  My kids always love spending time with them and are glad we live closer now.

We went to the Children's Village which is in Cheyenne.
They have lots of fun things for the kids to do, water to play in, and best of all, it's free.
After that, we walked across the street to the botanical gardens...also free.

That afternoon we headed to the Wyoming/Colorado border, about 15 minutes away, to Terry Bison Ranch.  They have over 5,000 buffalo there.  We took a train ride out to where the buffalo are.

 ....Logan loving the train ride.

When the train gets to the buffalo, they know that it brings food, so they run right over.  I've never seen a buffalo up close....they're HUGE!!

Dallin feeding one from the train door.

Logan loved feeding them too.  Gavin was too nervous his fingers might get bitten off.
It was really cool to see them so close.

The trading post was super fun and my boys wanted about everything in there.

 Logan and Nana.

 Dallin and his pet jackalope.

Last but not least, we showed Nana & Grandpa the train depot in Cheyenne.
Nothing says Wyoming like a big boot, right?
On Memorial Day, we headed to the Wyoming Territorial Prison in Laramie, WY.
It is the only prison that Butch Cassidy was an inmate in.

 Future inmates.

Logan and I locked in a cell.
My boys loved looking all around and seeing inside the cells.

We had a great time and were so glad Nana & Grandpa made the trek.

Awesome seeing you guys embrace your new home... I love how you find adventure where ever you go! The jackalope and big boot are my faves!

Here's my confession: I am afraid of buffalo. Seems like they were warning us about staying away from buffalo when we went to Yellowstone, so I think that's where I got it, and there you are feeding them like goats! You crazy people!! Sure looks like fun, though, and exactly the type of stuff I would expect to find in Wyoming. Haha!!
