Several months in the making and hundred of corresponding e-mails later, we finally made it to our NYC reunion girls trip. I moved from New Jersey in January 2012 and within the next 8 months several moved away too. So, we decided we needed to get back together and no place better than NYC!!
Jen (prego in the black shirt) moved to Indiana, I moved to Arizona then Wyoming, Kristy (striped shirt) still lives in New Jersey, Jenny (pink necklace) moved to Oregon, Colette (white shirt) still lives in Jersey, and Nancy (prego in cute dress) moved to Washington. It was SO great to see them and spend three entire days canvassing the city with them. Thanks to Jen and Jenny, our agenda was mapped out to a "T" and was jam packed!
We spend the first morning wandering the garment district where you find specialty shops that just sell ribbons and novelties, like the one above. It was fun to see.
Jen and I loved this candy shop that we found. It was so darling inside and we got treats for our kids.
It wouldn't be a visit to the city if you didn't indulge in the fabulous food.
We enjoyed cookies from Levain Bakery.
Then we strolled over to Central Park.
The flowers were all in bloom and it was gorgeous!
I have been to Central Park several times and am always amazed at the size of it and the quietness of it. Colette, Kristy and Jen headed to the Met while Jen, Nancy and I found some shade and enjoyed chatting. Man, I have missed hanging out with them!
One of the many fountains in the park.
We finished that day up by eating Mexican at La Rosa, which was delish.
The next day we walked the Brooklyn Bridge which took us about 5 times as long as it should have as we took millions of pictures and talked and laughed along the way.
I love this shot of the bridge (taken by me).
Another treat...of course!
That night, after eating at Juniors and enjoying their notorious cheesecake, most of us headed to a new broadway called "Once". Besides some language, it was fabulous!! Not much better than a broadway with your girls!
Yep, we were 30 something (okay, Kristy is a 20 something) groupies getting autographs and pics with the actors. I think Kristy liked getting chummy with the main actor. She denies it of course.
The next morning we went to Rachel Zoe's blow dry salon.
The "before" picture.
Isn't Colette's stylist awesome?
They have several different styles that you choose from, they give you a drink, then hand you an ipad loaded with the latest magazines to browse while they dry and style your hair.
The "after" pic.
Aren't we gorgeous?
Then we met up with our Jersey friends who came in for the day to play.
I have missed them all & loved having a day to laugh and chat.
We walked the High Line Park which is an old train line that is elevated and runs several blocks. It has great views.
Marti, Jen, Colette, Heather, and Nancy taking a break.
Aren't they cute?
After some shopping, we went on a harbor cruise. They skyline views were amazing!!
It was a bit windy...
Okay, super windy!!
My sweet friend Heather. I even got to stay at her new place after the trip and meet her twin babies before she drove me to the airport.
Gorgeous gals!
Raina, me and Lady Liberty.
After the cruise, we went on a bus tour back to Times Square.
Some of us headed back down to Canal Street to do some more shopping.....
No trip to NYC is complete without getting a Canal Street purse.
We celebrated Kristy, Alene and I's birthdays at dinner.
One final time in Times Square.
It was an amazing trip and it went too quick! I loved seeing everyone and catching up! I hope we can all do it again!

Ah I love re-living it! It was such an awesome time! I'm glad you got my groupie age correct...it makes it a little more socially acceptable:) haha that picture always makes me laugh! Somehow I'm like all over the guy and you guys are in the back...how did that happen?! And yes...he is a heart throb...yeah right! Gag! We must plan next years trip...seeing that we are going to have to celebrate another victory:) love ya!
Awwwww!! I miss you guys! Can't believe after all of that planning and waiting, it's already over and passed. Best time ever - next year is already reserved on my calendar! Love, ya - Mel!!
I see you wore your new pants :) Great photography, my friend... I can't believe those flowers are real! Now you're making me want to go back to NYC and see more. I think the word for Colette's stylist is fabulous! And, you know a Raina, too? I thought I knew the only one. I thought it was funny how you were the one who moved "to Arizona then Wyoming." You get around, girl. Miss you lots.
Ugh, I can't believe I didn't listen to my husband and NOT wear that shirt!!!! Now its out there for all the world to see... Oh well, it was a grand day!
