I consider myself very lucky in some ways. I have always had amazing friends and I am so thankful for that & thankful for all of you out there that call me friend. I am still very close with my girls from high school. Three years ago we ran a half marathon together, but this time there was no running involved....just fun and more fun. My friend Shauni is living in Texas right now so we decided to take the party to her. Kami & Lisa flew in from Utah and I flew from Arizona & we met up in San Antonio. Our friend Jen was planning on coming until she found out she was pregnant & would have spent the trip puking.
The first night we headed down to the River Walk for some yummy dinner and of course, finished the night off with some icecream. Truth be told, we pretty much had a yummy treat every night. Shauni's baby Owen got to join us on the trip and he is so dang cute! When we'd get a little homesick we could give sweet Owen some loves. That night we stayed up until 2 a.m. catching up, and almost missed breakfast the next morning.
Our first day there we headed to the alamo.
Then off to lunch. It feels like we were eating half the time. Isn't that what vacations are for though?
Enjoying my margarita, virgin, of course.
After an excellent Italian dinner on the river walk, we went to the five and dime store. Who can visit Texas without trying on an extra huge sombrero or cowboy hat?
I just love these girls....and am so glad we're still friends after 17+ years.
The best part is I haven't seen them since June & often it is longer than that, but we just pick up where we left off.
The next day we slept in late (again) then shopped at the outlets in San Marcos for most of the day. I tell ya, these girls can shop!
We found the largest cowboy boot in the U.S. and how could we pass up on that photo op?
Three of us bought matching pink sweatsuits from the outlets, while Shauni's was the same yet blue. Yep, we sometimes get a little crazy! The best part was we wore them down to breakfast the next morning and the looks we got were hilarious!!
Our last day we went on the boat tour on the River Walk and enjoyed seeing the sites, then off to the airport for me, while the other three had a few more hours before Kami & Lisa left.
This is what I saw when I walked out of the terminal....priceless! My boys did miss me and made me signs to prove it. I had SO much fun with my friends and missed my hubby and boys too. Can't wait till next time ladies!!

I'm jealous... I never saw the biggest cowboy boot! Looks like a really fun time, but your boys with the signs at the airport melts my heart!
