We usually head down to Rockefeller Plaza to see "the tree" earlier in the season, but with getting our house ready to sell there just wasn't time. So, we ended up going on Christmas Eve and spending the afternoon and evening in the city. We knew this would probably be our last visit into the city before we move, so it was extra special for us.

I LOVE the streets in the city at Christmas time. There are decorations everywhere and it really is quite the site to see.

This is the first time we've been to the tree in the daylight.

In Rockefeller Plaza there is a lego store, and it is amazing!
BEWARE: super crowded at Christmas time!!
You can design your own minifigures there, so we let each of the boys create three.
They really enjoyed that.
Then we walked down to Bryant Park where they have a skating rink and lots and lots of outdoor shops set up for the holidays. We did some fun shopping, then the kids decided they were done and the hot chocolate wasn't cutting it anymore, so we headed back to the car. Notice the Empire State Building in the background - Gavin knows by heart all of the big buildings in NYC and loves to walk around and point them all out.
We are REALLY going to miss living so close to NYC!

Amazingly enough all four of my boys were good enough that Santa came to visit and there was not a disappointed kid (included Tad and I) in our house on Christmas morning.
Logan loved his glowworm in his stocking and gave it a few kisses.
Dallin was happy with his 3DS.
Logan loved climbing on the mountain of presents.
Ethan loved his new Thomas the train track and his cars case.
Ethan & Gavin both got innotabs and Santa has not regretted it so far.
It was a wonderful day and going to church on Christmas made it even more special.

What a fun Christmas.
Good luck with the sale of your house. I hope that it sells quickly so you can all be together!
