Holiday happenings

December has been a busy month with getting our house ready to sell while still making time to enjoy the season and spend time with our kids and friends. We are so thankful for Christmas and what it means to us as members of the church.

The beginning of December we celebrated with Tad's work at the Funplex. The kids of course loved it all.

I was so excited for Logan's first picture with Santa. He pulled on his beard and looked at him strangely, but didn't cry. So it was definitely a success.

Gavin asked Santa for a castle...

Ethan asked for a case for his hotwheels cars....

...and Dallin asked for a DS.

I hope they've been good!

In October I decided that "one day" we would be moving (not knowing that it would be a LOT sooner than later) and decided I would regret not going to see the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes. So, we got tickets and went. It did not disappoint. The Rockettes were fabulous and there was even the manger scene at the end with a reading right out of the Bible. We loved it and even more so, we loved an afternoon in the city without the kids.

The amazing Rockettes.

Dallin has been studying the author Jan Brett (author of Gingerbread Baby, etc..) in school, so they had a 2nd grade family night at the school where we made gingerbread houses. It was a fun time.

Then we of course had to make our annual one too. I unintentionally figured out how to torture Gavin - buy a gingerbread house kit and leave it sitting out on the table for 3 days and tell him we'll make it soon. We were so busy getting things ready around the house that we finally got around to making it on a Sunday.

I also took Gavin, Ethan & Logan to a gingerbread village display where they are made by various people and displayed and judged. There were some awesome ones. The boys liked going there too.

Finally, we went a couple of days ago to the mall for storytime with Santa and his elf. Ethan & Gavin are the perfect age for that - they sat and listened and loved it.
