Halloween was almost cancelled this year in New Jersey because of this...
SNOW!
This picture is two days before Halloween at Dallin's football game. It started to snow, and didn't stop until 18 inches later! It caused some major damage: trees down everywhere and half a million New Jerseyans without power. Luckily for us, we never lost power, but lots of neighborhoods were without power. So, the school district sent out a message asking residents to "postpone" Halloween until the following weekend. What? Postpone Halloween? I called some friends in our neighborhood, and since we all had power - Halloween was still on! Since many friends in our ward didn't have power in their neighborhoods, they joined us for a Teeples neighborhood trick-or-treating party with pizza & hot cocoa afterward.
Our ward playgroup Halloween party.
*Notice Ethan & Gavin are Buzz & Woody
Trick-or-treating at the mall the day of the big storm.
Not such a good idea because we barely made it home. Our van couldn't make it up the hill into our neighborhood and two vans were stuck there already, so we had to go the back roads to our house which wasn't plowed and was quite nerve-racking, but we made it. Dallin was so nervous we were going to get stuck that he got teary eyed. Sweet kid!
*This is when Ethan & Gavin turned in their Buzz & Woody costumes for a dragon & a bat (which Nana gave them). Oh well, maybe next year!
Our friends, the Cooper's, hosted the annual adult Halloween party a couple weeks before the big day, and it was a blast!
The guys!
The sweet, awesome, cute & crazy girls!

The night before Halloween we got our jack-o-lanterns ready to go.
Gavin decided the "guts" were pretty gross and refused to stick his hand in there.
Two little pumpkins...
Our masterpieces.

It was so fun to have so many friends join us this year.
School was cancelled on Halloween due to so many schools without power.
So, Dallin's class party and costume parade were on November 1st. I think that's got to be a first.
*Halloween night, after the kids went to bed, I put their Halloween bags on the dryer so they wouldn't wake up in the morning and eat handfuls before breakfast. Well, Tad came downstairs to find Ethan & Gavin in the laundry room trying to get their candy. Gavin went in the basement and got a foam sword and was trying to get it under the handle of the bag so he could lift it off the dryer. Ethan sat on the laundry room floor watching Gavin, apparently giving him "back-up" support. Funny kids!
