Bermuda

The end of June found Tad, Logan (because he was free to bring) and me on the beautiful island of Bermuda. We were gone for a week and had a very relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the beaches, scuba diving (we got a babysitter for Logan through the resort), wonderful restaurants & most of all being alone together (almost, at least Logan doesn't talk yet). Logan was such a great traveler and was the star of the show. Everyone at the resort got to know and love Logan and would ask how he was doing, how he slept, etc... while I'm not sure they even remembered our names. The boys stayed home with our friends Juan & Korin for 5 days & Tad's parents for 2 days. They had a great time too, so it was definitely a win-win situation.

The beautiful beaches!

This was a cove we found on the second to last day, and it was so beautiful, quiet and serene. I could have stayed there all day.

This is how Logan celebrated his 3 month old birthday...lounging by the ocean.
Tough life eh?

Our resort had some awesome places to eat.
This picture makes it look like we had quiet romantic dinners, which we did, but they usually included Logan sitting on one of our laps.

A funny thing about Bermuda...visitors can't rent cars because they want to limit pollution to their island and because there just isn't room on the roads. The entire island is 21 miles from one end to the other and the widest part is 1 1/2 miles across. There are only 3 main roads and they are very winding. Notice all the mopeds parked? Visitors can rent mopeds or use public transportation. Something about driving a moped with a baby strapped to the front of one of us just didn't seem like a good idea, so we opted for buses. This picture is at an old naval base used by England.

Our hotel.

A lighthouse we visited.
The oldest cast iron lighthouse in the world. It had a great view of the island.

Almost all of the houses in Bermuda are painted light pastel colors and have white limestone roofs. There are no rivers or lakes in Bermuda and it is apparently quite expensive to take the salt out of the ocean water to use for drinking water. So, they have limestone roofs to catch and purify the rain water. All of the roofs have a lip on the bottom of the roofline and then a pipe that leads into the homes where they store the rainwater for later use.

More of the beautiful homes.
I personally love the orange one.

That looks amazing! The water in the third picture is unreal! Glad you guys had fun, but even more glad you guys are back! :) Just noticed that Landon has the same green outfit as Logan in that first pic...we need to dress them up as twinners before they outgrow them! :)

Wow! This looks like an awesome vacation. Your pictures look like they could be on a postcard. I especially love the one of you holding Logan on the "cove." You look fabulous! I'm so glad you guys were able to have a mostly-kid-free getaway!

So jealous! I wish we could do something like that. So awesome you were able to get away without the kids (for the most part). I can't imagine what that would be like!
