Chocolate + Nana = Spring Break!

My mom "nana" came out to visit us for Spring Break. We really enjoyed having her come visit as we don't get to see her often enough. We headed to Turtle Back Zoo one day, tied a quilt another day, then we all drove down to Hershey, Pennsylvania and stayed overnight and visited Hershey's Chocolate World and Hershey Park. The time flew by, but we really enjoyed her company and she loved seeing Ethan and Gavin's personalities and listening to non-stop stories from Dallin.

Turtle Back Zoo

The boys checking out an emu, with Dallin telling Gavin and Ethan all about it.

Nana and Dallin on the train ride.
Ethan and Gavin especially loved the train ride.

Which penguin do they measure up to?

My three little ducklings freshly hatched from an egg.

At the end of the day we stopped at the entrance for a shot of Nana and her boys.

Hershey's Chocolate World

Hershey, Pennsylvania is where Milton Hershey built a factory and started making chocolate. It is such a cute city and a lot of fun to visit. Inside Chocolate World, you learn the history of Mr. Hershey, become "factory workers" and we even went on a choclate tasting adventure where we learned how chocolate is made and tasted several varieties of chocolates.

No, we didn't really buy this, but Dallin and I wanted to!

Hershey's also makes Twizzlers, and we discovered on this trip that Gavin LOVES licorice. See what I mean about his love for candy? He went CRAZY when he saw these EXTRA LONG licorices and wanted them, but we settled on a much smaller size.

Dallin, Ethan, and Gavin became "factory workers" and helped package up some chocolate, which they thought was fun.

Hershey's #1 FAN!!

Hershey Park

Hershey Park is an amusement park with lots of fabulous roller coasters and great rides for kids as young as Gavin & Ethan. We really enjoyed the park and would recommend it to all!

All aboard!

The first half of the day Gavin & Ethan only went on rides where they could sit on our lap or next to us, but then they "graduated" to riding kiddie rides by themselves. What big boys they are!

They family with a Hershey Bar.
Instead of Disney characters, they have candy bars walking around....funny eh?

Nana and Dallin enjoying an icecream, while Ethan & Gavin are sleeping, and Tad and I hit a couple big roller coasters.

One of the fabulous coasters that Tad and Nana went on.

This was by far Ethan & Gavin's favorite ride....a horse carriage with reins to hold and a bell to ring. The look on Ethan's face doesn't look like he was having fun, but they didn't like it at all when the ride was over and it was time to get off.

Around Town

Notice the streetlights - they're hershey kisses and the street sign reads "Cocoa Ave"; there is also a "Chocolate Ave."

What a fun trip! I can't wait until the babies are bigger & we can take them there. By the way, you need to blog a picture of your quilt. I'm dying to see how it turned out!
