We were lucky enough to have Tad's parents, Oma & Opa (Grandma & Grandpa in German), come for a visit. We all love seeing them again and I know they love getting reacquainted with the kids. We had a wonderful time and wished they lived closer!

We went to Budd Lake beach, and Ethan & Gavin showed them of their love for sand and Dallin showed them how well he can swim.

The next day we took them to a "hometown carnival" equipped with all the rides that you hope don't fall apart while you're riding them. We introduced Oma & Opa to zeppoles (fried dough) at the carnival, which they enjoyed.

Tad & Dallin going down the "big slide".

The last day we went to the Bronz Zoo, which is absolutely enormous & just as fun! It was unfortunately very hot and very humid, but we still had a great time. Tad's sister Zoeanne and four of her kids (my neices and nephews) drove down from Albany to meet us there. It was fun to have so many of us together!

Ethan LOVED the animals and would get really excited if they were moving or jumping around, so he especially loved the little monkeys. He would make his monkey sound (ooh ooh ahh ahh). Here he is trying to climb over the glass to join his monkey friends.

Dallin & I's favorite was the great apes.

Dallin the turtle. I think his shell is just a bit too big though.

Gavin feeding goats for his first time. He actually liked it.

Dallin & I rode a camel at the zoo, which I thought was really cool. Now I just need to go to the Middle East and do it in the wild (yeah, right!).

when I first saw your header I thought it was my sister that had posted because in dutch opa and oma are used as well. Isn't it nice to have this easy way to distinguish one side from the other?!
