Thanksgiving - St.George style

This year for Thanksgiving we went to my parents "other" house UP in St. George.  (Tad will be so proud of me when he reads this because I said UP in St. George as it is up from Arizona.  I ALWAYS say down.  Everything is down to me and he is always directionally correcting me).  Anyway, my younger brother Blake & his family flew in from Alabama & my parents & older brother and family drive DOWN from Ogden area.  We hadn't all been together for Thanksgiving since Tad and I lived in Utah, so it was such a treasure for me.  We spent four nights there.

The first day we went hiking on the red cliffs.  I love the color; so beautiful!

 The dads & their babes.

Isn't this view amazing?  We hiked to the top of a cliff and the view was worth it.  I love the stark whiteness of the St. George temple.  My grandparents were married there, so I've always loved that temple.

Nana was so worried about the little kids being on top of the cliff...she wouldn't let go of Ethan & Gavin's hands if her life depended on it.

Cousin love.
Notice Ethan's eyes shut tight...that way he wasn't afraid he said.

Good thing we got "muscles" holding up the cliff for us.

Another adorable shot.
I love when they get the chance to get together, as they have so much fun together!

 Grandpa & Logan.
Priceless.

Thanksgiving day.  In the morning we had family & extended family photos done (after we popped the turkey in the oven), then home to make all the fixin's.  It was a wonderful meal.  The kids had their own table, with the exception of Logan & Makayla with the adults.

After the feast had settled a bit, the kids made sleighs, with the help of grandpa & dads.  Then they painted them.  They had a great time with their "little project".  I must mention that I did "Black Friday" shopping on Thursday night, yes Thanksgiving, with my mom and both brothers at Walmart.  I have to say that is a first.  First time even black Friday shopping with my brothers and first time ever black Friday shopping on Thursday.  It was crazy and fun!

The next day we headed to Zions Canyon for some trail hiking and it was also so beautiful.  I loved this view.

Blake, Court, Zach & Makayla had already headed back to Alabama, so they were missed.

That night we ate out at Golden Corral; yep, Grandpa's choice.  The next day we played at the park then everyone except Logan, Grandpa and I went and saw "Rise of the Guardians" and loved it.  After a little hot tubbing and watching Brave the kiddies were exhausted and ready for bed.  We left the next day for our 7 1/2 hr. drive home.  We loved spending time with family; it truly made our Thanksgiving wonderful.  I am thankful for all of my family and what a blessing they are to me!

I'm laughing about the direction thing because whenever I am in a car and looking at a map, I think I am going north. It's so hard for me to comprehend that I could possibly be traveling down the map... that's backwards! Haha. The picture of your mom and the twins reminded me of when we went to Arches and I was holding Paige's hand to keep her safe when I totally slid on some loose rock. It freaked her out and she wouldn't hold my hand anymore... she always reminds me of that when we are hiking! Looks like you guys had a fabulous time with family, and the scenery was beautiful, too :) How did the family pics turn out? Did you get any steals at Walmart? Pretty soon they're going to have to call it black Thursday.
