It is hard to believe that I have a little guy who is not so little any more and who has reached the "age of accountability". He had his baptism interview last week and is preparing to be baptized. WoW! He talks year round about his birthday and what games he wants to play, what the theme could be and what kind of cake I can make him.
This year he decided upon a Harry Potter theme (he is a huge fan!) He had five friends come over to celebrate. Ethan and Gavin were almost as excited as Dallin was.
First we played "Pass the Snitch".
Essentially it's hot potato, but they thought it was cool to have a golden snitch.
Next we had Quidditch practice.
It was a team relay where they had to fly their broom over to the electrical box, jump off of it, fly around the mailbox, hit a bludger with the bat, throw the quaffle through the ring, then race back to their team for the next player to go. They had a great time playing.
Here they are after a victorious Quidditch practice.
Then they went on a scavenger hunt for the golden Ridgeback Dragon eggs.
They had clues that lead them all over outside and inside.
Ethan and his golden egg with a baby dragon inside.

Then we had pizza with pumpkin juice and butterbeer.
And some cake and icecream.
Tad then loaded the six boys into our van and they went to the theatre and saw Spy Kids 4. It was rewarding to see Dallin and his friends have such a great time.
Happy Birthday Dallin!

You are so creative Melanie. I Love the Harry Potter theme activities. And the cake looks fantastic! Did you make it? Happy Birthday Dallin!!
Happy Birthday Dallin! My boys are also sssoo into Harry Potter. Your party looks like it was a blast, I love the cake! I'm so glad to hear that you survived the hurricane with minimal damage. No power for 2 1/2 days is tough!
Ethan had such a blast at the party. I seriously don't know how you come up with this stuff AND have the time to do it. Super mom!! Glad Dallin had such a fun b'day!
