My Granny, Gladys Luella Martin Mann, passed away Dec. 28, 2010 at the age of 83. Her services were held in Utah on January 7th, and thanks to my sweet husband (who watched the boys and had a clean house upon my return), I was able to fly out by myself to attend her funeral. My granny was always optimistic and very strong in the gospel. She was always telling me she was proud of me, and I knew she really was. I will miss her and look forward to seeing her again some day!
This was the taken in August of this year, the last time we saw her. She enjoyed visiting with us and loved seeing the boys, and we loved seeing her.
This is one of my favorite pictures because I can hear her laugh when I see it. She had such a cute little giggle. My cousin referred to her at her funeral as "our facebook" as she always knew what everyone was up to - who was expecting, who was moving, who got a new job, etc.. (with 30 grandkids and 58 great-grandkids, that is quite a task).
I flew out Thursday night and left Sunday morning, so my time was jam-packed! My trip wouldn't have been complete without seeing Tad's family too. I went to breakfast with my mother-in-law and 4 of my sister-in-laws and 2 nephews. It was wonderful to see them!
My family LOVES bowling, so of course we had to go. My younger brother, his wife, and their little guy from Alabama were able to fly out for the funeral too, so we were all together (minus my hubby and kids). I wondered how well I could bowl being 7 mos. pregnant, and miracles never cease - I got my highest score ever - 162! My sister-in-law Courtney and I tied.
The Fab Four Bowlers.
The guys were there too, but all four of us beat their scores!
The last night we went to dinner at Timbermine. The more time I spend with my family, the crazier they seem to be! Gotta love them!
*FYI - Yes, I am wearing the same shirt in all those pictures, and that is because they were all taken on the same day.

Mel, I'm so sorry about your loss. Your Grandma sounds great. I'm glad you were able to make it to the funeral. You look great! I can't believe you are already seven months along. I can't wait to see pictures of this ittle guy!
I'm so glad you were able to have a nice trip visiting with family. I'm sure it meant a lot to your dad to have you there. Hopefully it was a little mommy recharge too. By the way I love the snow pics. You guys need to come sledding at our house sometime!
I am sorry to hear about your grandma. One of the blessings of a funeral is that family gets together and talks about all the amazing things about the person.
You look amazing!
