A Thanksgiving to Remember...

This year we were very fortunate to have lots of family come to visit for Thanksgiving. My parents flew from Utah, and my cousin & his family drove from Ohio. We really enjoyed having a house full of family! My parents came in on Monday, so we had a couple of days to get some sightseeing in before the big day. Also, thanks to my mom and my cousin Debbie, I prepared my second annual turkey and Thanksgiving feast.

My dad is a huge history lover, and any Revolutionary War scholar would know, New Jersey is full of sites. We visited Morristown where we saw Washington's winter headquarters.

Then we headed over to Jockey Hollow where Washington's men encamped over the winter while he stayed at the mansion. Inside the visitor's center, Ethan was fascinated with the dummy soldiers.

The next day we spent the day in NYC.
Nana, grandpa & my boys in Times Square.

Inside Toys 'R Us.
Who could resist a picture with this gigantic transformer?

Then we headed to Bryant Park where there were outdoor Christmas shops all around, and iceskating in the middle of the park.

Dallin feeding a pigeon at the park.

Next stop: Rockefeller Plaza to see the tree.
Although it wasn't lit up yet, it was fun to see.

Lastly, we went to see the balloons being blown up for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They blow them up the night before, and it was really fun to watch.
By this time, Dallin's legs were ready to fall off, but he was such a great sport!

Gavin & Daddy at the Spiderman balloon.

Buzz all netted down so he couldn't float away before the big day.

The Big Day!
My cousin Jake & his wife Debbie made the 7 hour drive & arrived Wed. night.

The kiddie table.
Dallin, Jabren, Jamesen & Joshua.

Thanksgiving Eve we made turkey cookies with the kids, played Thanksgiving Bingo, then went swimming. What a great day!

The day after Thanksgiving, my parents flew home. Tad took Dallin & The Thompson Family to NYC. Ethan, Gavin & I stayed home. Here they are at the top of the Empire State Bldg.
*this is the only picture I have of their trip to the city because I wasn't there to take all the pics.

The boys!
My kids are still asking and talking about their cousins & how much fun they had with them.

I am thankful for family!!

Glad you guys had such a blast. You are one brave woman to take on a house full of guests. Maybe I'll be ambitious enough next year to take the kids to see the balloons being blown up. You always make everything look so easy! :)
