Christmas Joys

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Although we weren't able to be with family, we still had a great time and enjoyed our own little family. We spent the break mostly hanging out at home playing new games on the Wii, playing with our new toys and just enjoying one another.

On Dec. 23rd, we headed into the city to see the Christmas sights in the city. We saw the windows of the Macy's downtown, then walked up to Times Square. This is the first family picture we have in Times Square. Luckily the weather cooperated for us, and it wasn't too chilly.

We then walked (yes, a lot of walking, just ask Dallin) up to Rockefeller Plaza to see the tree. We went last year to see it too, so I convinced Tad that it is now a tradition, so we HAVE to go see it.

The fam in front of the tree.

Dallin's note for Santa, along with some cookies, milk, and carrots (some carrots were for the reindeer, and some for Santa so he won't get too fat).
He note read: " Dir Satu, I hop yoo injoy the cooces. Luv, Dallin"
Translation : "Dear Santa, I hope you enjoy the cookies. Love, Dallin
He is sounding out words now and writing them. I loved his note and was so proud of him!

Alas, Christmas Day!
Gavin is checking out his stocking that Grandma Teeples made.

Ethan opened one toy (matchbox cars) and was content to play with them all day. He had no interest in opening any more presents. So, we helped him open them. Here he is with an Elmo toy. No point in taking off the rest of the wrapping paper if you can already see and play with the toy, I guess.

Gavin fully understood the concept of unwrapping presents and helped Tad, Dallin, and I open several of our presents.

Dallin must have been a good boy, because Santa brought him the Star Wars toys that he wrote Santa for. Dallin did a little dance when he opened this present - it was fun to see.

Merry Christmas! I love your traditions. I think it is fun that you guys go to NYC to see the sites. It is awesome to be able to take advantage of the city being close.
